Getting here

A car is necessary. The houses are in forest, on quiet roads, and there is no bus that reaches them. Plan to drive the last part of the journey whatever else you do.

By air

Most international guests fly into Helsinki-Vantaa (HEL) and drive from there — roughly four hours east. Savonlinna (SVL) is closer at about 97 km, but has very few flights. Lappeenranta (LPP) is also worth checking for seasonal routes.

By train

The nearest station is Simpele, about 19 km away. Imatra also has a station with connections from Helsinki via Lahti and Kouvola. You will still need a car or a taxi for the final stretch.

By car

The nearest supermarket is about ten minutes away, and Imatra is about half an hour. It is worth shopping before you arrive, especially if you land in the evening.

In winter

Roads are cleared, but winter tyres are a legal requirement in Finland from November to March and the last stretch is quieter than a main road. Allow extra time in the dark.

Check-in

Check-in is between 15:00 and 18:00, and check-out between 08:00 and 11:00. Check-in is self-service, so you can let yourself in without meeting anyone — but we do need to know roughly when you plan to arrive. Please tell us in advance.

Before arrival you will receive an online check-in form. Finnish law requires accommodation providers to record certain details for every guest, and this form is how we collect them. It takes a couple of minutes and saves you doing it on the doorstep.
